Get done with your Past to embrace the Future - Nauman Khan Azeemi

This might sound familiar! Some people go through life as if they have a big anchor behind them, weighing down. If they could release the anchor they would be able to move faster and prosper in life. Perhaps that’s you holding on to past hurts, failures or any regrets. Letting go of such past is the final step to complete your past and embrace the ongoing present and the future awaiting you with innumerable opportunities. Colin Powell, U.S Secretary of United States said, “None of us can change our yesterday, but all us can change our tomorrows.”

To remain in the present and work for a prosperous future, you need to release all the anchors inhibiting you. The only way you can do that is by making peace with your past and accepting it the way it is. You may sometimes need to let go of the grudges building up inside of you, forgive people who wronged you and free yourself with the regrets you have been holding. Easier said than done, right? But that is the only way you can live in the present with solace and look forward to the future you dream of. Isabella Holland rightly says,

“As long as you don’t forgive, who and whatever it is will occupy rent-free space in your mind.”

Nelson Mandela, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize said,

“Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will confuse your enemies.”

Bottling up negative emotions such as hatred, resentment, jealousy or regret can be detrimental to your health, well-being and prosperity in so many ways. It not only sucks the life out of you by stripping you off positive energies but also impedes your productivity in the present. These emotions are often toxic, they slowly build up to the point that make a person totally unproductive.

If you are to live a blissful life, it is important to free yourself from all such toxic emotions and start afresh. Move ahead with exuberance and positivity and walk your own path of success.
